Remembered.ie was founded by Richard Langford, a professional genealogist based in County Kerry, Ireland. Throughout the course of his work, Richard had noticed that his genealogical research often led him to graves which had been long since forgotten and which had now been reduced to a sad and lonely footnote in many cemeteries. He felt compelled to conduct research into the people who were laid to rest in these plots and in doing so he discovered that there were often fascinating stories waiting to be told about the people who were more than just a worn inscription on a headstone.

Once the research has been completed on a grave, the information is uploaded to this website and a discreet QR code is placed upon the headstone which allows people to learn about the person who was laid to rest at that burial site and the lives they lived while they were alive..
